How to do a fabulous recital

Hello, my darlings! How are you? I am Erica Hotts, again! :D! And today I would like to talk about “How to plan a recital”.  So… here it is! A step by step to plan a good recital!

1- Take every opportunity you have to be a good professional.

You can do it by singing in a wedding choir, by singing in a simple Christmas performance in the street, by singing in a rehearsal, or even by singing at home.

2- Choose carefully the repertoire

Find a criterion that has to do with your heart and create a unity among the music. A good strategy is to inform your public about the music story and to connect the repertoire in climates by creating a story with your musical choices.

If the recital is preprogrammed and you are not free to choose the songs, you can study them until they become your favorites. Then, you can find something cool to show to your public!

3- Study the repertoire

You can bring these songs to your singing teacher. He/she will surely be delighted to help you and will encourage you.

4- Rehearse with your accompaniment.

It doesn’t matter if it is a pianist, if it is an orchestra or if it is just a recording. There are very good recordings of classical music karaoke on YouTube. Trust me! And you can feel as you were singing with a huge orchestra. Singing with good recordings will help you very much on your learning.

5- Take a time to do your vocal warm up

That means to be at peace, to breathe deeply, to clean up your mind and to focus just in your vocal warm up. You should spend about 30 minutes, if it is possible.

6- Be wonderful!

You can spend about 30 minutes to do your make up, to brush your hair and to dress up. A good tip is to look for outfits that inspires you some confidence. And, if you are a woman, my tip is to wear a long dress, It lengthens the body and gives to the public a fullness impression.

7- Do your best as you were in a great music theater!

Even if you are singing in your mommy’s dining room. A singing show routine improves your professionalism, and brings you a real life experience. The more you practice, the better professionals you will be!
